What is a stroke?

A stroke is an interruption of the blood supply to the brain due to blocked or burst arteries. As a result, the cells in the affected part of the brain do not receive enough oxygen, which they need for survival. Without oxygen, the cells start dying.  The impacts of a stroke are sudden and they are characterized by difficulty in walking, speaking, seeing, and feeling.
