Can people who have aphasia return to their jobs?

It depends on the job. Because most jobs require speech and language skills, aphasia can make some occupations difficult. Individuals with mild or even moderate aphasia are sometimes able to return to work, but are more likely to succeed if their job responsibilities are modified to suit their abilities and less multitasking is involved. These patients can also work better in a group rather than working alone.
